Cassidy Yiengst

Cassidy Yiengst is a 19 year old artist who enjoys creating thought provoking, yet humorous works of theatre. She loves to use her acting, singing, and dance training to make bold and creative statements and enjoys collaborating with fellow artists to create work that entices and inspires those who watch.

Cassidy started performing in theatre productions at the ripe age of eight years old and never looked back. She has been in countless children's/high school theatre productions with her favorites being Annie (Pepper), The Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Willy Wonka), and Shrek: The Musical (Fiona). She has also been dancing for sixteen years and has had the opportunity to perform the roles of Clara, Snow Queen, and Sugar Plum in the Nutcracker. She also performed as the Conductor in the Nutcracker Express (a merging of the Nutcracker and the Polar Express) and has performed with The Ballet Collaborative at NYU.

Cassidy has been fortunate enough to train at Boston Conservatory in their Musical Theatre Dance Intensive summer program in 2021 as well as at Carnegie Mellon University's Precollege Drama program in 2022. She is currently a freshmen at NYU Tisch studying drama in the Experimental Theatre Wing. She is also pursuing a degree in History, as well as a minor in the Business of Entertainment, Media and Technology.

While at NYU, Cassidy has been a part of multiple projects. She has performed in NYU's One Day Plays playing Leader in the play A New Night and Knife Dog Play Festival playing Jennifer Coolidge in the play Am I Straight?. She has also been in two short films,  The Afterparty and Down 2 Clown. 

 

Cassidy was given the opportunity to perform in multiple professional productions with Clearspace Theatre in 2024. She was seen in My Fair Lady (ensemble), Rock of Ages (swing, u/s Regina), and the Prom (ensemble, u/s Olivia Keating, Godspell kids swing). She also had the opportunity to perform in the staged reading of the new musical Psyche. She is grateful for all of these experiences and for the ability to do what she loves in a professional setting.
